Celebrations at NC Awards Ceremony

National Certificate Students at Angus College were celebrating their achievements this week in a series of awards ceremonies spanning across two days. The students who particularly excelled within their areas of study were commended for their hard ward and received a special award to mark their achievement.

Around 75 students walked the Angus Conference centre stage to receive their certificates in front of a packed auditorium. Students from every curriculum area were in attendance with awards being given in subjects ranging from Landbased Studies and Art & Design to Engineering and Communications. Family, friends and Course tutors also lined the isles of the conference centre as they turned out to show their support for the winners.

It was a double celebration for the Manzie family from Auchmuthie when Rachelle Manzie and Emma Manzie both won awards for their respective subjects. Emma was awarded the Forsyth’s Vegetable Award for Best Certificate in Professional Cookery, meanwhile here sister took home the Sally’s Salon Services Award for NQ Hairdressing Year 1.

Director of Learning and Teaching, Barbara Nelson, says “One of the best parts of my job is celebrating the achievement of the many students who choose to come to Angus College every year and who go on to receive awards. Learners at Angus enjoy excellent facilities, and learning experiences which equip and motivate them to move on in their lives to employment or further educational opportunities.”
