College Engagement Event a Success

A recent showcase addressing the topic of learner engagement at Angus College has proved a big success with participants who came from Colleges across Scotland to take part. The event entitled The 4Ts of Engagement was hosted by Angus College staff and students and was a lively, energetic showcase of learner activity at Angus College.

The event was centred about the concept of 4Ts (talking, tea, time and togetherness); a tried and tested set of tips developed by Angus College Learner Engagement Officer Katie Anderson, which help to engage learners at a practical level and in ways which are relevant to their learning goals.

Over the past two years there has been a growing emphasis on learner engagement at Angus College and there has been an increase in the extra curricular activities and services available to the students. This success was noted by HMIe last year in a review of the College. The event provided a student and staff perspective on how engagement has changed at Angus College through presentations and interactive workshops .

Learner Engagement Officer Katie Anderson said This has been a great event and a lot of that was thanks to the students in the student union who were key in showing the delegates what learner engagement at Angus College is all about. I hope that everyone has taken away some really positive ideas from this event to develop at Colleges across the country.
