College Taster for School Pupils
More than 300 pupils from local secondary schools got a taste of the college experience today (Friday 9 November) at Angus College’s S4 School Open Day.
The fourth year pupils who are looking at coming to College were invited from schools including Brechin High School, Forfar Academy, Monifieth High School, Webster’s High School, Arbroath Academy, Arbroath High School, Montrose Academy, Carnoustie High School and Mearns Academy.
Pupils were able to pick their area of interest from a range of curriculum areas – Engineering, Hairdressing, Art, Hospitality, Sport, Business, Landbased, Computing, Construction and Care.
The pupils then spent two hours within their chosen area during which time they were able to experience the full range of courses on offer. Each department provided a series of talks, live demonstrations and interactive activities to give pupils a real flavour of what they can expect if they choose to come to Angus College.
Angus College’s Recruitment and Admissions Team Leader, Sonja Cargill said: “Events like these are incredibly beneficial for secondary pupils, ensuring that they make informed choices about their future career path prior to leaving school.”
