Spectacular Student-built Stage Set Ready for Opening Night
Joinery and decorating students from Angus College have been celebrating finishing their first proper job: building a stage set for Arbroath’s Webster Theatre. Thirty students from two different courses rolled up their sleeves to create the perfect backdrop for Arbroath Musical Society’s production of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” at the town’s Webster Theatre.
Lecturer, Steve Rennie says “I told them they were building for the ‘Best Little WAREHOUSE in Texas’, but I think it was more to spare my blushes than theirs! They’ve done a fabulous job, however, and they’ve had a great opportunity to practise hanging doors etc while doing something relevant and useful.
Scott Ramsay, President of the Arbroath Musical Society says “It’s the second time we’ve asked the College to create a set for us. We first did it two years ago when they helped us with “Jesus Christ Superstar”. It’s a fantastic collaboration and the standard of the work is brilliant.”
The performance runs from Tuesday 16th February to Saturday 16th. Tickets are available from the Webster Theatre’s box officeends
