Accessing the Virtual Private Network (VPN)
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to access internal College facilities, such as the intranet or your file server space, from outside the College. These are not normally accessible over the internet. The VPN connects securely to the college network. You will need to have an internet account with an ISP already set up. For more information, open Windows Help and search for VPN.
Please note that when use a VPN to access the College network, you become subject to the Regulations for the Use of ICT Facilities, in the same way as you would if working in the College.

Using the VPN
You are advised not to attempt to configure Microsoft Outlook to read your College e-mail. The preferred way to do this from outside the College is to use the web interface - point your browser to 'http://mail.angus.ac.uk'. This, of course, does not require the VPN connection.
