Who is this course aimed at?
This course is designed for those who are interested in the area of accounting. This practical course will introduce and develop your skills in supplying, interpreting and advising on financial information. It allows entry on to the career ladder and gives you the choice of which direction you wish to pursue. For those in the workplace, the course can be studied on day release over a period of two years.
What entry requirements will I need?
Two Highers (including English) or relevant industrial experience or NQ Administration & Information Technology (with Finance Options).
How and where will I study?
One year full-time although a range of flexible part-time and distance learning options are also available.
What will I study on this course?
Subject areas covered include Accounting, Costing, Computerised Book-keeping and Payroll.
Job and progression routes?
The HNC can act as a springboard for those wishing to progress on to a professional accounting qualification. This includes exemption from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Level 1 examinations. Successful completion of the HNC may also give direct entry to a range of degree programmes at university.
