Application of Pesticides by Hand Held Applicators (PA 6AW)

 This is a two day training course which covers all the information required to pass the PA1 Safe Use of Pesticides Foundation Unit and PA6AW Applying Pesticides using Hand Held Applicators.

Course Content: 

The course covers -

Legislation, Personal Safety & Contamination, Interpreting the Pesticide Label, Pesticide & Container Storage, Disposal, Record Keeping, Environmental Factors. Before operatives can carry out a spraying operation with any kind of spray applicator they must all have achieved the PA1 qualification.

The second day of the course trains the operator in the safe use and practical application of pesticides by Hydraulic Nozzle Hand Held Applicator. Subjects covered include: Interpretation of the Product Label, Nozzle Selection, Calibration of the applicator, Correct use of the Applicator, Environmental Considerations. Pesticide application to water.

Target Group: 

The course is aimed at those who need to use pecticides at work.

Duration: 

This course is run over two full days.

Certification: 

On successful completion of the course students will receive an Angus College certificate and students will be prepared to undertake the electronic Gola test.
