NEBOSH General Certificate

The National General Certificate is the most widely held health and safety qualification in the UK with over 100,000 people having gained the award since it was launched in 1989.

Course Content: 

 The course is split into three distinct units all of which are examinable separately. The units are as follows:

NCG1 – Management of Health and Safety

NGC2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards

NGC3 – Practical Assessment

NGC1 consists of the following elements:

1.             Foundations in Health and Safety

2.             Health and Safety Management Systems 1 - Policy

3.             Health and Safety Management Systems 2 - Organising

4.             Health and Safety Management Systems 3 - Planning

5.             Health and Safety Management Systems 4 - Monitoring, review and audit

NGC2 consists of the following elements:

           Workplace Hazards and risk control

           Transport Hazards and risk controls

3.                   Musculo-skeletal hazards and risk control

4.                  Work Equipment hazards and risk control

5.                  Electrical safety

6.                  Fire safety

7.                  Chemical and biological health – hazards and control

8.                  Physical and psychological health – hazards and control

Target Group: 

This course is aimed at managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. The certificate helps them manage risks effectively. Many people take the NEBOSH National General Certificate as a first step in a career in health and safety. It provides a valuable overview, and is a sound
basis for further professional study.

Duration: 

This course is run Monday to Friday from the 20th May - 7th June 2013.

Certification: 

Student will receive an NEBOSH certificate on successful completion of the course.

The College may make a change to a course for the reasons set out above, or for other reasons where it is reasonable for the College to do so. If there is a change to a course about which you have expressed an interest, the College will let you know as soon as possible.
