HND Computing Technical Support Year 2 - Full Time

Who is this course aimed at?

Technical network support is critical across all areas of the computing industry. The course is designed to produce students with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment in these areas. Alongside this, students will gain skills in software development.

What entry requirements will I need?

Successful completion of HNC Computing (15 credits). Entry is subject to interview were you will be assessed on attitude, motivation and determination to succeed.

How and where will I study?

One year full-time following successful completion of an appropriate HNC.

What will I study on this course?

The course is very ‘hands-on’ with an emphasis on practical skills. Subjects cover installing, administering and maintaining local area networks, project scheduling and management, relational databases, Java programming, data communications and professional issues. Training towards the Vendor qualifications is embedded within the course.

Job and progression routes?

Network technician/engineer, junior IT/network administrator or junior programmer. Year Three applications Development and Computing & Networking degree at the University of Abertay, Dundee.
