Higher Psychology - Evening
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at those who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of some of the topics in Psychology and also develop skills of analysis and evaluation.
What entry requirements will I need?
Designed to stimulate curiosity and enjoyment in Psychology and as such no prior knowledge of the subject is required. Applicants must have Standard Grade English at Level 2 or above or equivalent.
How and where will I study?
Start date: 28 August 2013 – one evening per week (Wednesday 6.30-9pm) in Arbroath. Course duration: 36 weeks.

What will I study on this course?
SCQF Level 6
You will develop an understanding of the concepts, approaches, methods and applications underpinning the scientific discipline of Psychology. This includes psychological processes experienced by individuals and those experienced in social situations. Investigating Behaviour also includes a practical Research Investigation which is submitted to SQA and contributes to the final grade.
Job and progression routes?
This Higher may act as a top-up to existing qualifications to gain access to future academic study (HN level in FE or degree level study in HE). Psychologists are known for their work in the health and education services but psychology graduates can be found in almost any area of life and a Psychology degree opens up a wide range of career opportunities.
