Who is this course aimed at?

Aimed at those wishing to be employed in roles such as computer technician, trainee software developer or IT helpdesk officer.

What entry requirements will I need?

The minimum academic qualifications are: Successful completion of a computing-related NC course (at least 17 credits including Core Skills at Intermediate 2/SCQF Level 5 or Higher level and pass of coursework and exam). For direct entry you would normally be expected to have attained a minimum of six relevant Standard Grades at level 1-3 and/or one relevant Higher Grade.

Mature applicants with relevant employment experience are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis and may be required to undertake additional exercises.

How and where will I study?

Study method will be distance learning/online. There are three starting points in the year – September, December and April.

Price: £1375 (based on session 12/13 prices, 13/14 pricing to be confirmed)

What will I study on this course?

SCQF Level 7 & 8

Candidates will gain skills and knowledge in software development, technical support and introductory networking.

This course provides a valuable qualification for a successful career in computing and information technology or progression to further study at a higher level and university.
