NC Engineering Systems - Full Time

Who is this course aimed at?

Aimed at those hoping to pursue a career in the engineering sector or those wishing to advance to higher education (HNC and beyond). This course is theoretical in the majority of its content and is suited to those intending to progress into the technician side of engineering.

What entry requirements will I need?

Entry is subject to an interview selection process which will assess your suitability in terms of academic qualifications and motivation. Progressing Students: Successful completion of a relevant SVQ Level 2 Award. Direct Entry: Ideally four Standard Grades at Level 3 or above with one being Maths of Physics. Mature applicants with relevant employment experience are welcome and will be assessed on an individual basis and may be required to undertake additional exercises.

How and where will I study?

The Engineering Department at the main Arbroath campus.

What will I study on this course?

Comprehensive training will be given in all key areas such as mechanical, electrical and systems engineering through topics including: maths, communications, computing, combinational logic, engineering systems, electrical measurement and testing, engineering materials and mechanical principles.

Job and progression routes?

Successful completion may offer progression to apprenticeships or to HNC Engineering programmes

(HNC Engineering Systems).
