Introduction To Art & Design
Who is this course aimed at?
An excellent introduction to all aspects of Art & Design for those of you who may not have had the chance to begin to build up a portfolio. Throughout the course, you can also take the opportunity to increase any academic qualifications which might enhance your chance of progression at a later stage. An ideal platform for those who are unsure which area of Art or Design they wish to focus on.
What entry requirements will I need?
As part of the application process you will be asked to submit a selection of your art/design work which can demonstrate to the tutor’s satisfaction that you have the ability and enthusiasm to complete the course successfully.
How and where will I study?
The art and design courses are delivered in three spacious studios enjoying natural daylight and adorned with still life objects. A computer suite, printmaking facilities, a darkroom for black and white photography development and ceramic and sculpture workshop add to the portfolio of accommodation available. The majority of student course work is practical, hands-on project based investigation, experimentation and realisation.
What will I study on this course?
Starting at a basic level, the course focuses on exploring visual images and developing personal ideas which can then be realised in a variety of media including Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography and Ceramics.
Job and progression routes?
Successful completion may give you access to NC Portfolio Art or a range of other National Certificate programmes.
