Who is this course aimed at?

This course is for those who may be returning to education or who have just left school and wish to continue their studies. Applications are actively encouraged from both male and female candidates.

What entry requirements will I need?

Entry is subject to a selection process which consists of an interview, one satisfactory reference and demonstration of written communication skills. All successful candidates will be required to be a member of the PVG Scheme prior to placement.

How and where will I study?

This excellent locally devised childcare course consists of a number of units aimed at developing skills, knowledge and understanding of children 0-12. Study will take place at the main Arbroath campus.

What will I study on this course?

Subjects include Health, Development, Safety, Play and First Aid along with core skills in numeracy, communication and ICT. You will also be offered an opportunity to practise these skills in a placement with children.

Job and progression routes?

Childcare Assistant, Classroom Assistant, Playgroup Assistant, After School Club Assistant, Nanny. Students have the opportunity to progress to National Certificate Early Education & Childcare at Higher Level.
