NC Beauty Therapy (Level 5) - Full Time
Who is this course aimed at?
A good introduction to the treatments carried out in the beauty therapy industry. This programme is both practical and theoretical, with assessments covering both areas. You will have the opportunity to carry out the practical elements on fellow class mates and members of the public. The course will be carried out in the college’s two beauty therapy salons, using professional ranges of products. You will learn the essentials in beauty therapy, where you will gain the basic skills for employment and progression to higher courses. This course will take considerable commitment to study and practice to ensure achievement. You will be required to meet the high levels to personal presentation standards of the department and must be able to demonstrate strong client care skills to progress successfully.
What entry requirements will I need?
The course is based at SCQF level 5, to achieve this you will be educated to credit/Standard Grade level with passes in English and a science subject at grade 4 and above. If not a recent school leaver previous experience may also be considered. You must meet the high standards of personal presentation required of the beauty industry.
How and where will I study?
The course is based at the main Arbroath campus in the Esk building.

Units will include, Facial Skin Care, Manicure, Waxing treatments, Back, neck and shoulder massage, Reception duties and skills, Make-up, Information Technology (core skills), Communications (core skills)
Job and progression routes?
After successful completion of NC Beauty Therapy Level 5 you could progress to NC Beauty Therapy
Level 6. Be a beauty consultant, junior therapist, or move into self-employment.
