Who is this course aimed at?

This Introductory SQA Unit is a great starting point for those who wish develop their skills in dog grooming.

What entry requirements will I need?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

How and where will I study?

Course duration: 16 weeks x 2 hours (one evening per week, 6.45 – 8.45pm)

Start dates: 2 September 2013 and 6 January 2014

Price: £250 (based on session 12/13 prices. 13/14 pricing to be confirmed).

Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive for this course there is a high chance that applications may be for the waiting list. Should your application be on the waiting list, it will be carried forward for the January intake. Places are not guaranteed.

What will I study on this course?

SCQF Level 4

The content of the course includes:

• Describe the requirements for different dog breeds for grooming depending on coat type.

• Prepare dogs for grooming and apply grooming techniques.

• Perform routine tasks to maintain the dog’s comfort and health.

• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the working environment.

This is a certificated qualification that will require the candidate to undertake a number of written and practical assessments.
