Certificate In Interactive Computing - Full Time
Who is this course aimed at?
The course focuses on the computing skills you will need in the modern workplace. It is very hands-on and helps prepare you to get a job – or go on to a higher-level course in computing or interactive media.
What entry requirements will I need?
All applicants should demonstrate an enthusiasm for computing and IT. Your entry to the course will
be subject to an interview and core skills test which must be achieved at minimum Access Level 3 for communication and numeracy and Intermediate 1 for IT. Alternatively, applicants will be considered individually on the basis of previous experience and/or learning.
How and where will I study?
The majority of your course work is hands-on and is undertaken in various purpose build computer suits and technical labs. Although achievement is continually assessed, you will also sit a formal exam at the end of the year. This full-time course is based at the main college campus in Arbroath.
What will I study on this course?
The course covers a wide variety of subjects through general application packages, IT systems, Programming and Networking Concepts, Robotics, Web Design and Graphics. During the course you will be given the opportunity to study ‘Skills for Work’ that may include a work placement component.
Job and progression routes?
Successful completion of at least 15 credits, including core skills and exam may allow entry into the CT Computing & Information Systems or CT Computer Graphics, Animation & Video. If you are progressing to a higher level programme you must ensure that you meet the entry requirements of that course.
