HNC Contemporary Art Practice - Full Time

Who is this course aimed at?

Students on this excellent course have had notable success in achieving art college placements.The HNC Contemporary Art Practice is seen as an equivalent to the three Highers necessary for art college entry.

What entry requirements will I need?

A substantial portfolio of relevant and recent art works which can demonstrate, to the tutor’s satisfaction, that you have the ability, enthusiasm and initiative to complete the course successfully.

How and where will I study?

All art and design courses are delivered in three spacious studios enjoying natural daylight and adorned with still life objects. A computer suite, printmaking facilities, a darkroom for black and white photography development and ceramic and sculpture workshop add to the portfolio of accommodation available. The majority of student course work is practical, hands-on project based investigation, experimentation and realisation. Study trips to culturally significant locations including Barcelona, Prague and Liverpool have previously been experienced by students.

What will I study on this course?

An advanced level course covering a broad range of art related areas with strong portfolio based subjects – Life Drawing and Painting, Observational Drawing and Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture.

Job and progression routes?

Any art and design related employment. Progression on to an HND or degree programme.
