Finding that people were more interesting than figures he moved into Personnel and in the motor industry he held management appointments in personnel and management development before coming to Dundee as UK Human Resources Director for Timex. In 1986 he became self employed and jointly established MSSL as an executive search and selection consultancy specialising in Purchasing & Supply Chain. Graham’s experience in multinationals and in self employment has convinced him that although qualifications are important the key to career success lies in the motivation of the individual.

Following this she successfully completed her doctoral research Scottish Culture and the First World War, 1914-1 939 in August 2006 and published J M Barrie and the First World War: Propagandist, Philanthropist and Apologist in the Scottish Association of History Teachers’ journal, as well as The 1915 Rent Strikes: An East Coast Perspective for the Abertay Historical Society in 2008.
