Course: Access to University and Highers

This course has been fantastic, inspiring and rewarding! The tutors, staff and classmates have been amazing which has made this a great experience for me.

Highers are a great opportunity to 'pick and mix' the education you want while also providing you with essential skills and qualifications for life and education or employment progression.

Course: HNC Health Care

Holly had worked as a florist for six years before deciding to follow her ambitions to return to study and retrain to become a nurse.

The thought of going straight to university and back into studying was daunting, so I decidedto start off by completing both the NC Health Care at Higher Level and HNC Health Care courses at Angus College. These courses were great and my tutor's were very supportive and inspirational. This knowledge and experience enabled me to progress to Year 2 of the BSc in Nursing at the University of Abertay. It has definitely been the right decision.

Course: HNC Social Care

Debra I recently made the massive decision to take a voluntary redundancy package from an office job in order to follow a lifelong ambition to work in social care. Initially the thought of coming to College was quite scary, but the tutors were really helpful and encouraged me to take a distance learning module as a taster in preparation for full-time study.

The HNC Social Care is the perfect course choice to enable my career change. I love the balance between classroom-based and practical hands-on experience and I am so glad I made the decision to follow this route!

Course: ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages)

ESOL courses are very important for all foreign people who wish to set up their life in Scotland. Through these courses we don't just learn the English language, we also learn how to integrate and about citizenship. Tatiana

From these courses we can progress onto further education, higher education or employment. The ESOL course gave me the opportunity to learn English and apply for the National Certificate Administration course. I want to study at a higher level and I wouldn't have been able to do this if it wasn't for the ESOL course.

As well as studying I work as a volunteer helping other people with language skills and promoting multi-culturalism. Angus College and the amazing ESOL tutors have allowed me to better my life chances. I would like everyone to have this chance.

Course: Introduction to Construction

ConstructionI have learned so much already studying here at Angus College and am able
to transfer my skills easily into my work. The tutor's have really encouraged me throughout my course and this inspire's me to be successful. Recent projects I have been involved in are the restoration of a local museum and hard landscaping for a residential home in Perthshire.

Course: Introduction to Engineering

EngineeringI was thinking about a career in the off shore industry but wasn't sure about which area would suit me best so the Intro to Engineering course looked the best option as it gave me a chance to try out the different topics. I discovered that I preferred welding to the other areas of turning and fitting as a result I have now progressed to the Welding and Fabrication Pre-Apprentice course.

Course: National Certificate Hairdressing

Rachel studied the NC Hairdressing after NC Art where she had gained an understanding of colour and awareness of shape and design. A committed student she was successful in several competitions and achieved a silver medal at the World Skills Challenge this year.

Since choosing Hairdressing as a career I have strived to be the best I can be. Being determined and getting involved at College is paying off for me with the results I have achieved, especially the World Skills.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at College and would recommend it to anyone - it's worth the hard work.

Course: Access to Uniformed Services

I joined the AUS course to gather information and it gave me a good insight into all the forces and what they had to offer. Within the course I learned different skills from first aid to map reading and gained a high level of fitness which has helped me to progress through Royal Marines training. Upon finishing my training I have completed several training exercises in the UK.
